Edu-Therapy
Someone you love has died.

You know you want, no, need to work through it - the pain, the grief, the entire gamut of emotions you’re experiencing.

You acknowledge the importance of dealing with this in a healthy way that allows you to heal.

You might have already tried counselling or other form of therapy to work through this life changing event.

And now you know you’re ready for something more… actionable.
Results oriented.
Usable.
This is where Edu-Therapy is for you

Edu-Therapy, the grief resolution program I am trained and accredited in, is aimed at helping you resolve the emotional pain of loss (bereavement, marriage breakdown, redundancy etc).

It helps you move out of feeling stuck, not knowing how to deal with the complex emotions that grief of all types makes us feel, and guides you to being fully in the present, able to let go of the ‘what ifs’ and ‘if onlys’ that keep us locked in the past or a future that doesn’t look how we hoped it would.

Meet Lou

I thought I’d processed the sudden death of my husband, Pete.

As an experienced coach and personal development expert, I thought I had the tools to help myself through it.

I’d had grief counselling but it didn’t help as I felt like I was re-hashing old ground and not healing.  I also felt that there was a sense of the counselling potentially going on indefinitely and at £50 a session, even over 18 months that’s almost £4000. With little to no tangible outcome

That’s a long time and a lot of money for something that didn’t really help.

And the counsellor kept telling me how ‘high functioning’ I was.

Even after all that counselling, I had a paralysis breakdown.
A weekend where I simply couldn’t move or get out of bed.
My children were coming into my room and I could see their mouths moving but the words weren’t reaching my ears. It was like I was drowning under water.
Their little panicked faces were so worried and fearful and yet if I’m honest, at that moment in time I didn’t care.

I didn’t care about any of it. I’d lost all feeling. I hadn’t processed my grief at all… only prolonged the inevitable.

It was the wake up call I needed to really delve into my grief and that’s when I was pointed in the direction of Edu-Therapy Grief Resolution.
Only through training as a Grief Edu-Therapist did I realise I had so much more processing to do.

I know from going through this program myself, and having taken others through it, that it totally changes your perspective on your loss.

It provides you the tools to work with the feelings afterwards, too, so that, as more challenging emotions come to the surface (as they inevitably do), you’re ready and equipped to deal with it, without having to wait until your next counselling session to re-hash it all through.

What is Edu-Therapy?

Edu-Therapy is an evidence-based cognitive behavioural model that was developed in Canada, coming to the UK in 2022.

It offers a two step process that:

“Rapidly accesses and identifies conflicting emotions”

“Provides concrete, easy to use steps that decreases the disturbing emotional intensity”

“Is easily repeatable, so once learned, can be repeated on your own”

“Moves those struggling with emotional pain from being stuck in the past, into the present”

“Teaches healthy emotional coping skills”

“Grief Edu-Therapy is an essential toolkit and support system for anyone experiencing fresh or historic grief. I thought I knew about grieving and had embraced it fully until I experience this course… then I discovered how complex this emotional experience really is, how much it can impact your ability to truly savour the life you still have if you don’t process it deeply”

Anna

“This process has helped me so much. I was in quite a dark place with my grief and now have the tools in place, understand my grief so much more and am starting to sense some light at the end of the tunnel”

Jack

“I hadn’t really known what to do with my grief since my husband passed. Having been through the Edu-Therapy process I feel more at peace with my grief and all the huge emotions that come with it, more equipped to deal with it day to day, as well as when the big moments hit”
